Happy Birthday Jack!

So he's finally here! I am uploading pictures for a slideshow as I type this. I started the induction process wednesday night and started contractions around midnight. They got bad around 3-4 am and I have never been so grateful for modern medicine as I was around noon when I got my epidural. We both (or I guess all three of us) got through the rest okay. The ob/gyn delivered the head and then Matt got to do the rest of the delivery and cut the cord. Little Jack is perfect and getting cuter by the minute. He came out with his eyes wide open and barely cried. He stayed very alert and just looked around and studied faces. He discovered his lungs last night, which I guess was bound to happen. He weighed in at 7lbs 11oz and is 20 inches long. He has lots of red hair which shows up in some of the pictures. We're home now and doing well, just trying to figure out how this whole parenting thing works so we'll need lots of advice!
